Hasty Torres is Madame Chocolat...
Chef/Owner Hasty Torres is Madame Chocolat. A native of Los Angeles, Hasty followed her studies at USC graduating with a Business degree from the Marshall School of Business in 1998 with a successful career in the financial industry. Following her heart and her passion, she left her career to complete the full chefs training at the Pasadena outpost of Le Cordon Bleu in 2004. An intensive internship with Master Pastry Chef and Chocolatier Jacques Torres in New York led him to assign her the duties of opening chef for his flagship 8,000 square foot factory and retail headquarters.
In 2006, Hasty returned home to Los Angeles and opened her dream come true chocolate factory boutique and cafe on chic Canon Drive in Beverly Hills. She uses only the highest quality ingredients and Belgium chocolate for her handmade products. Bonbons, truffles, coated items, novelty pieces and custom chocolate work are her expertise. Her fashionable chocolate line of shoes and handbags have been featured worldwide, and she is credited with originating the chocolate Louboutin High Heel.
In July 2012, Madame Chocolat moved to a 5,700 square foot space in Downtown Los Angeles. This new facility is solely dedicated to chocolate manufacturing. Currently, products are available online and future plans include retail/café locations throughout Los Angeles area.
Today, both Hasty Torres and Madame Chocolat are widely recognized for a whimsical, fashionable and custom approach to chocolate making of the highest caliber.
Hasty fell in love over chocolate with Jacques Torres and were married in 2007. They split their time between New York and Los Angeles.
